What you should notice first
Instead of skipping a fixed 30 seconds, the skip buttons (including iPhone + CarPlay) try to jump to the nearest jingle/music marker. In practice, when an ad starts, one skip usually drops you right back into the show.
When a podcast is trained, you can also get
- Auto-skip to content — jump straight to the episode intro / start.
- Auto ad-break skipping (marker-based) — skip the whole break when consistent markers are used.
- AI ad detection (supported devices) — attempt to detect sponsor reads/ads and skip them automatically.
If it doesn’t behave for a particular show
No stress—just turn off Auto Skip for that podcast.
Training a podcast (one-time per show)
- Start playing any episode.
- The app analyses it and shows a table of recurring sounds/jingles.
- Tap the pencil icon next to a sound and label it as Intro, Main content, or Ad break. Only label something Ad break if that sound is used exclusively for adverts.
