How to configure Flow VPN on Android

Connect with StrongSwan App

Download and install StrongSwan for Android from the following locations to connect to FlowVPN. You must install StrongSwan to continue.

You can connect using a configuration profile from our website or configure StrongSwan manually.

You will need your special VPN Password from our client area – this is not your normal password

To connect with a profile:

  1. Visit the client area
  2. Scroll down to countries
  3. Touch the words “Android StrongSwan File” under a country you wish to connect to
  4. Open this file in StrongSwan
  5. Enter the VPN password from the client area when prompted – this is not your normal password
  6. Touch the VPN Server to connect

To Configure Manually

1.Open StrongSwanAndroid4-settings)vpn

2. Select ‘Add VPN Profile’

3. Populate the fields as follows:

Server = choose a server location from the list in your client area, entered in the format us.flow.host
VPN Type = IKEv2 EAP (Username/Password)
Username = Your Email Address
Password = The VPN Password in the client area
…then ‘Save
CA Certificate = Select automatically
Profile Name = FlowVPN
Advanced Settings
Server Identity = flow.host

Touch Save

FlowVPN-StrongSwan

Manually configure using PPTP protocol

1. Go to Settings > More Settings > VPNAndroid4-settings)vpn

 

 

 

 

2. Select ‘Add VPN network’

3. Populate the fields as follows:Android4-PPTP
Name = Flow VPN
Type = PPTP
Server address = choose a server location from the list in your client area, entered in the format us.flow.host
…then ‘Save

 

 

 

4. Android4-connectYou’re ready to connect!
You’ll have been taken back to the VPN connections list. Select Flow VPN, enter your username (this will be your email address) and the VPN password shown in your client area (please note, this is not the password you use to log in to your client area!)
Click ‘Connect

 

 

5. Android4-notebarYou’ll be able to see that you’re connected by pulling down your notifications bar.

 

To disconnect, tap ‘VPN activated‘ then you’ll see your VPN status screen. Select ‘Disconnect‘.

Manually configure a L2TP connection

1. Go to Settings > More Settings > VPN

 

 

 

 

2. Select ‘Add VPN network’

3. Populate the fields as follows:
Android4-L2TPName = Flow VPN L2TP
Type = L2TP/IPSec PSK
Server address = choose a server location from the list in your client area, entered in the format us.flow.host
IPSec pre-shared key = bewhereprojects
…then ‘Save

 

 

4. Android4-connectYou’re ready to connect!
You’ll have been taken back to the VPN connections list. Select Flow VPN, enter your username (this will be your email address) and the VPN password show in your client area (please note that this is not the same password that you use to log in to your client area!)
Click ‘Connect

 

 

5. Android4-notebarYou’ll be able to see that you’re connected by pulling down your notifications bar.
